Saadia Pekkanen is the founding Director of the Jackson School Ph.D. Program and the Job and Gertrud Tamaki Professor at the Jackson School of International Studies
She is Adjunct Professor in the Department of Political Science, and Adjunct Professor at the School of Law where she also teaches courses. Her areas of research interest include international political economy, international law, space security and policy, and the international relations of Japan/Asia.
