Professor LeMaster is a historian of colonial British America, specializing in American Indian history, gender, and the Atlantic World. Her book, Brothers Born of One Mother: British-Native American Relations in the Colonial Southeast, investigates the role that ideas about gender and family played in Anglo-Indian contact in South Carolina and Georgia before the Revolution. Her current project focuses on Moravian-Indian relations.
