Dr. Rebecca Andrews, originally from the Boston area, returned to the UConn Health Center in 2009 as clinical and teaching faculty. After receiving both a bachelor's and master's degree in biology from Boston College, she relocated to Connecticut to attend the UConn School of Medicine. She remained at the university for her residency before working in the community. Now, back at the John Dempsey Hospital, Dr. Andrews divides her time between clinical care and teaching. She is a primary care internal medicine doctor with a focus on preventative health, heart failure, and chronic disease management. Her teaching time is spent working with the Internal Medicine Residency as an associate program director and has developed several curricular innovations such as the office based medicine track, a business of medicine course, and a mini M.P.H. course for future primary care doctors. At home, she is a mom of two kids and has a long list of hobbies including creative writing, horseback riding, running, and photography.
