Her recent work has focused on describing the uncertainty using uncertainty sets, which has led to an approach based on robust optimization, and using the historical data, which has led to data-driven models. She teaches courses on deterministic and stochastic optimization. Dr. Thiele has conducted research for Lehigh's Zollener Arts Center to optimize the theater's ticket sales and pricing model, and has consulted with investors to make better decisions in the market under uncertainty.
