Professor Ozsoy conducts research in these areas: geometric modeling and its applications in design, manufacturing and quality control using computer-aided engineering systems; feature-based geometric modeling toward the integration of design and manufacturing; representation of features, dimensions and tolerances in solid models; hybrid geometric modeling and synthesis of surface and solid modeling; applications of mating conditions in the automatic generation of assembly sequence plans; feature recognition and CAD-directed inspection using solid representations; interactive design and NC machining of free form surfaces; sculptured surface modeling using general boundaries; freeform surface and boundary evaluation; and, automatic finite element mesh generation from solids, non-manifold geometries.
