Nathan B. Kruse, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Music Education and Coordinator of Graduate Studies in Music Education at Case Western Reserve University. Kruse joined the CWRU faculty in 2013 and teaches music education courses in vernacular music at the undergraduate level and research methods at the graduate level. Prior to his appointment at CWRU, Kruse served as Assistant Professor of Music Education and Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Music Education at the University of North Texas, where he taught instrumental methods courses, supervised student teachers, and taught graduate-level courses in qualitative research and sociology of music. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Butler University, a Master of Music degree in Music Education from the University of New Mexico, and a Ph.D. in Music Education from Michigan State University.
