John Patrick (Head of Voice and Speech, coach for PlayMakers Repertory Company) has taught for New York University Graduate Acting & Steinhardt School, Rutgers University, Southern Methodist University, New York Film Academy, Theater Academy at the University of the Arts at Helsinki, Finland and is the co-founder of Miller Voice Method Studio NYC. John was mentored as a teacher by Scott Miller hosted in part at the Graduate Acting Program at NYU | Tisch School of the Arts. As an actor he trained under William Esper, Lloyd Richards and Deborah Hedwall at Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts where he received his MFA. He received his BFA in Acting and Musical Theater from TCU and trained in and employs the methodologies of Knight/Thompson Speechwork (KTS), Patricia Fletcher (Ms. Fletcher), Edith Skinner & Kristin Linklater (Margaret Loft), & Michael Chekhov (Lenard Petit). Originally from Kansas City, John is also an actor and has appeared off-Broadway, regionally such as The Dallas Theater Center & Casa Manana, in feature films, and has shot national and regional network commercials.
