I am historian of Modern Europe with an emphasis on 20th Century Germany. I started my academic training at the Universities of Marburg and Tübingen in Germany. I came to the US in 1991, first as an exchange student at Washington University in St.Louis, then as a graduate student at Brown University, where I earned my Ph.D. in 2000
