I am a professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept at the University of Florida. I am interested in developing biologically inspired algorithms for sensory and neural processing that can be implemented in analog VLSI or DSP systems. My students and I have started the Hybrid Computation Group within the Computational Neural Engineering Laboratory (CNEL) at the University of Florida. (Note: Hybrid means that we combine elements of analog/digital or biological/artificial). I am also a member of the UF Biomedical Engineering Program. You can click on my full contact information. After working one year at the Hughes Research Labs in Malibu, CA, I started in the interdisciplinary Computation and Neural Systems program at Caltech in 1987. I joined the the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Florida (UF) in 1993.
