I am an Acting Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Washington and a core faculty member of the Center for Statistics and the Social Sciences. Previously, I was an Instructor of Political Science at Emory University, and an assistant economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
My research is in the fields of political methodology and international relations. In international relations, I am interested in a range of topics, including the relationship between conflict and financial markets, quantitative models of battles and casualties, and measuring war. Methodologically, I am interested in Bayesian statistical methods, state space models, and machine learning. I am completing a PhD (ABD) in Political Science at the University of Rochester, and have a BA in Economics and Government from Dartmouth College.
