Dr. Young teaches the history of art at Stern College for Women. His book, "Realism in the Age of Impressionism: Painting and the Politics of Time," is forthcoming from Yale University Press. Dr. Young has also published articles in The Art Bulletin, Art History, The Journal of the Research Institutes of Art History, Nineteenth-Century Art Worldwide, and at Nonsite.org. He is currently working on a book on Post-Impressionism and the evaporation of the public sphere. In 2014, he received the Dean Karen Bacon Faculty Award. He was selected as the Lillian F. and William L. Silber Professor of the Year in 2011 and as the General Studies Professor of the Year by the Senior Classes of 2011, 2012, and 2015. He is on sabbatical leave in 2015-2016.
