Emmanuel Abbe received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in 2008, conducting research in the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS). He previously obtained his M.S. degree from the Mathematics Department at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, in 2003. Before joining Princeton University, Emmanuel Abbe was a postdoctoral fellow and lecturer in the School of Communication and Computer Sciences at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. He is the recipient of the CVCI Prize in Mathematics at EPFL, the Shannon Fellowship at MIT, and the 2011 Foundation Latsis International Prize.
