Research interests relate to the regulation of lipid metabolism and the relationship of metabolism to food intake with relevance to both human and animal nutrition. Current areas of research relate to: identifying the means by which animals monitor the rates of lipid and protein accretion and adjust macronutrient intake in response to these rates; effect of dietary fat type and specifically conjugated linoleic acid on adipose tissue development; and use of feed enzymes to improve nutrient availability.
