I am most interested in taking research findings and seeing how they translate to bedside practice, with populations of patients that may not fit a perfect mold. I enjoy evaluating implementation barriers for evidence-based care within typical clinical practices, then working at a systems level to resolve barriers so that evidence based practice can be incorporated into daily clinical work.
My areas of clinical and research interest include wound care, dementia care, geriatrics, urgent care/emergency medicine, international health, and community-based research. I also enjoy program development, project management, and informatics.I teach for the DNP-FNP program, and instruct in clinically-based courses including physical assessment, procedural skills, and clinical seminar. I also act as a faculty advisor for students in the first and second years of their program of study.
