The Division of Biology at Kansas State University is a leader in undergraduate and graduate education and cutting-edge research. We have an excellent record in research, teaching, and community outreach. We offer Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in three options: Biology, Fisheries, Wildlife & Conservation Biology, and Microbiology; a Master of Science degree in Biology; and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in two options: Biology and Microbiology. The Division of Biology is one of the largest programs on campus with over 800 undergraduate majors and 65 graduate students enrolled on average every year. Our 55 faculty work to train the next generation of life scientists via our undergraduate and graduate programs. Our faculty include award-winning scientists who have been recognized with national and university awards for their contributions to research and teaching. The Division is dedicated to the discovery and dissemination of new and existing biological knowledge, in a supportive and diverse environment, to students, professional colleagues, and the public through first-rate teaching, research and outreach. Faculty, postdoctoral associates, graduate students, and research scientists are highly productive and publish over 130 peer-reviewed articles and books every year. Research programs in the Division are supported with competitive funding from extramural grants and total research funding averages ~$9.5M per year.
