专业描述

The interior design program at Kansas State University provides a first professional degree in a four-year curriculum. Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions in the interior design profession. The program is accredited by both the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. With professional practice experience, graduates of CIDA-accredited programs are eligible to complete the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) examination, which is the basis of most title and license legislation in the United States and Canada. For more information about the NCIDQ examination, see their website. Graduates of the interior design program are well positioned to advance their credentials and earn other professional designations that advance their particular career goal. These credentials can include but are not limited to the LEED Accredited Professional status, American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers certification, and EDAC, Evidence-based Design Accreditation and Certification. Our graduates are also prepared to attend graduate schools of their choice in a variety of disciplines or specializations including, but not limited to, interior design, lighting design, historic preservation and architecture. Recent graduates have earned graduate degrees at the University of Texas, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Kansas and the University of Oxford (UK).
