专业描述

Welcome to our undergraduate majors in literary and cultural studies, languages, and linguistics, and our Ph.D. program in Comparative Literature. In an increasingly global world the study of literatures and languages has never been more urgent than it is today. Our students' writing and research respond to this urgency, producing pluralistic, multilingual, theoretical, and historical forms of knowledge and critique. The literary, cultural, and linguistic fluency and insight one gains through the programs offered by the faculty in Comparative Literature remain for a lifetime. I invite you to join us. Thomas Scanlon Professor and Chair, Department of Comparative Literature and Foreign Languages Graduate Student Receives Bruns Essay Prize (11/13/2015) Brittany Roberts has been chosen to receive the Bruns essay prize at this year’s Society for Literature, Science and the Arts conference, which takes place November 12 - 15, 2015 and a very intellectually rigorous conference that attracts some of the top graduate students from around the country and beyond. The Bruns Graduate Essay Prize, in honor of Edward F. Bruns, is awarded annually to the best essay written by a graduate student member of the Society for Literature, Science, and the Arts. Brittany’s winning paper is entitled "Touching Bare Life in the 'Corridor of Absolute Dying': Biopolitics, Necrorealism, and Resistance to 'Making Live' in Evgenii Iufit's 'Spring'". The Department congratulates Brittany for winning this prestigious prize!
