The curriculum in Spanish includes beginning, intermediate and advanced level classes for both native and non-native speakers of Spanish. Spanish linguistics, Hispanic literature and civilization courses are complemented by Experiential Learning opportunities. All courses are given entirely in Spanish. The B.A. in Spanish has three concentrations: 1) The Hispanic Language and Literature Concentration 2) The Spanish Pedagogy Concentration (Students seeking a teaching credential must complete the Spanish Pedagogy Concentration in addition to courses required by the School of Education) 3) Cultura y Civilización The department also offers a minor in Spanish for students who are committed to another major track, as well as a minor in Latin American Studies.
