Well-known for its commitment to teaching, excellence in clinical care, and strong sense of collegiality, the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth is also a comprehensive research institution. In the past decade, annual research grants and contracts awarded to the Medical School more than doubled. Today, the total research funding at the Geisel School of Medicine is $137 million, which accounts for more than 70 percent of the Dartmouth's total research activity. The faculty at the Geisel School of Medicine is nationally recognized for research excellence, including leadership in genetics, bioinformatics, population health, cancer, cystic fibrosis, neuroscience, psychiatry, and health care delivery science research, among others. Our faculty features 14 Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and two members of the prestigious National Academy of Sciences.
