The Finance Department of Boston University Questrom School of Business brings together a group of talented and prolific scholars and teachers who work in areas that are relevant and on the cutting edge of today’s research in risk management, asset pricing, corporate governance and strategy, and lifetime financial and retirement income planning. These areas of interest have as a common thread the notion of risk. Risk affects all facets of economic and financial activities, and is central to financial theory. We seek to advance knowledge in this domain, and to provide our students with a rich and broad program of study that will prepare them for career success. In our research, we develop and use valuation methods, computational techniques, econometric methods, and empirical aspects to examine a wide variety of important issues.
