Building on core knowledge in Social Theory and in Research Methods, Master’s and PhD students specialize in various fields within Sociology, pursuing original research that contributes to the field and lays the foundation for careers in research, teaching, and applied sociology. Faculty and current students are pursuing research in Global and Comparative Sociology; Culture; Organizations, Networks and Markets; Gender; Race and Ethnicity; Urban Communities; Health and Medical Sociology; Political Sociology; Religion; Economic Sociology; and Theory. In addition, Teaching Fellows share a newly renovated office area, and advanced doctoral students are eligible for individual workspaces.
