We invite you to explore our website and learn about the manifold opportunities the department offers to critically engage with the study of art from a multidisciplinary and transcultural perspective. Located in the greater Boston area Tufts is an ideal place to study the history of art. Faculty's expertise and research spans many different areas and thus informs the vibrancy of our undergraduate and graduate program. Small classes allow students to work closely with faculty and learn about their work. Students also have the chance to get involved in the work of the university gallery or visit the many prominent museums in the Boston area like the Fogg, the Busch-Reisinger, the Isabella Stewart Gardner, the Institute of Contemporary Art or Boston's renown Museum of Fine Arts for which Tufts students get free admittance due to an institutional membership.
