The Department of Dance maintains the highest artistic standards with four dedicated full-time faculty: Jiang Qi, Department Chair; Deirdre Carberry, Andre Megerdichian and Michael Tevlin; along with ten adjunct instructors who motivate and promote excellence among the gifted students in the collegiate program. Master classes are given by regional company directors such as: Victoria Morgan, Edwaard Liang, Norbe Risco, Bruce Simpson and Karen Russo Burke. Guest artists in residence (from one to ten weeks) have included: Vivi Flindt, Marianna Tcherkassky, Suzanne Farrell, John Magnus, Maria Calegari, Bart Cook, Benjamin Bowman, Sean Curran, Maureen Fleming, Diego Salterini, Hannah Baumgarten, Joysanne Sidimus and Maria Vegh. Master classes have included artists from Pilobolus, Zvi Dance, Joe Goode Performance Group, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company and Urban Bush Women, among others. The CCM Dance Department boasts a distinguished, dynamic faculty, state of the art facilities and the support necessary to provide a diversity of new and challenging experiences for its students.
