The School of Geology, Energy & the Environment merges several academic programs and institutes to create unique educational opportunities for students ranging from traditional degree paths in geology and environmental science to broader multidisciplinary options in energy, environmental and resource management. Students can enhance their learning experience in our modern Center for GIS & Remote Sensing, or by working at our Unconventional Reservoirs-Core Lab Facility through the TCU Energy Institute. Some students chose to spend summers at TCU’s Costa Rica Field Station for rainforest investigations, or explore the benefits of Texas wind farm development through the Institute for Environmental Studies. You may even get involved in meteorite analysis through our world-renowned Oscar E. Monnig Meteorite Gallery and its association with The Smithsonian Institution. The School’s faculty members are dedicated to creating unique teaching and research opportunities for students interested in meeting the new challenges we face related to natural resources, energy and the environment.
