Lloyd Bell is a professor in the department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication. He is a Nebraska native having received his B.S. in Agriculture from the University of Nebraska in 1971, M.S. in 1980, and Ph.D. in 1984. He began his career as an instructor of vocational agriculture in West Point, NE. In 1976, he was appointed as an Assistant Director of Agriculture for the state of Nebraska. He has been a faculty member in the College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources (CASNR) since 1978. He has been recognized, within the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at UNL, as a recipient of the NACTA Teaching Award of Merit and the L.W. Crowe Award for outstanding undergraduate advising, and by the North Central Region of the American Association for Agricultural Education (AAAE) as an Outstanding Agricultural Educator and for Distinguished Teaching. Currently, he serves as the CASNR representative on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Curriculum Committee.
