I am a geneticist who uses the free-living nematode Caenorhabditis elegans to study various elements of oxidative stress, DNA repair and radiation sensitivity. In collaboration with my longstanding collaborator Dr. Naoaki Ishii, I have particularly focused on the genetics of free radical generation in mitochondria and their resultant molecular, cellular, and organismal effects.
