Sarah Ruffing Robbins is the Lorraine Sherley Professor of American Literature and Interim Dean of the John V. Roach Honors College. Much of her interdisciplinary research focuses on American literature as enjoyed by everyday readers. Sarah also studies cultural forces that shape competing literary value systems and interdisciplinary teaching. Her first single-author book, Managing Literacy, Mothering America (2004/2006 paper), won a CHOICE award from the American Library Association. Her Cambridge Introduction to Harriet Beecher Stowe (2007) was commissioned for Cambridge University Press’s series on major American writers.
