With over 25 years of experience in academia, Dr. Beata Jones is an Honors Faculty Fellow at the John V. Roach Honors College and a Professor of Business Information Systems Practice at the Neeley School of Business. She joined TCU in 1995. Before coming to TCU, Dr. Jones was a faculty at Baruch College, City University of New York, and Long Island University, C. W. Post, as well as a Fulbright Scholar at theWarsaw School of Economics. She has taught over 20 undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Systems, Statistics, Quantitative Decision Making as well as interdisciplinary honors colloquia involving information technology, such as Disruptive Nature of Information Technology andDigital Identity and Digital Storytelling across Disciplines. She has also developed and leads a Cultural Pathways through Eastern Europe Honors Abroad program, where students develop intercultural competency while exploring Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic during a three-week-long program. Dr. Jones has served as a reader on more than 30 honors theses and led honors students in information systems research. Her recent student projects include How Computer-Mediated Communication Can Confuse Emotions in Diverse Teams, and The 21st Century Black Market: The Causes, Aftermath, and Lessons of Silk Road’s Downfall.
