职业经历

Prof. Calcagno’s edition of Cavalli's Eliogabalo (forthcoming for Baerenreiter) has been adopted for performances in Bruxelles, Dortmund, Stony Brook, and New York City. In the occasion of this last production, The New York Times and The New Yorker featured articles that discussed his research. He is also the director of the Marenzio Online Digital Edition (www.marenzio.org), which has been funded by a grant of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Calcagno is currently working on a book provisionally entitled Staging Baroque Opera Today. His courses often deal with opera, especially in its relationship to various media, and with the early modern period, especially as considered through works of Claudio Monteverdi and their performances today. At Penn, Professor Calcagno is a member of the Center for Italian Studies and of the Italian Studies Faculty.
