I am a Professor in the Mathematics Department at Boston University. There are lots of ways to get in touch with me, including, if you're in a hurry, e-mail! My research interests include dynamical systems, partial differential equations and mathematical physics. My most recent work has focussed on the use of of ideas from dynamical systems theory to understand the behavior of partial differential equations. I have been particulary interested in understanding the behavior of both viscous and inviscid fluids and in the extension of the Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser theory to partial differential equations. I am also affiliated with the Center for BioDynamics here at Boston University. Preprints of most of my publications in these areas are available at the Mathematical Physics Preprint Archive (mp_arc) or the Nonlinear Science e-Print Archive. I also keep PostScript and PDF copies of recent preprints as well as a copy of my CV with a complete publication list available here. I am very interested in the impact of technology on mathematics education and communication. The widespread availability of powerful computer algebra systems has begun to affect my teaching, and I now use computer algebra systems like Maple or Mathematica in a wide variety of courses.
