Jackson Roush, PhD, is Professor and Director of the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences, University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, NC. He is also Section Head for Audiology at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities. Dr. Roush has been an audiologist for over 30 years. He has published and presented extensively on a variety of topics related to pediatric audiology and hearing loss in children. He is actively involved in several state and national organizations committed to improving early identification and intervention for children with hearing loss and their families, and he currently serves as Co-Chair of the EHDI Advisory Board for North Carolina. Dr. Roush is Director of the North Carolina LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Program. He also co-directs (with Dr. Melody Harrison) a personnel preparation grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education (OSEP) entitled: “Preparation of Pediatric Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists to Serve Infants, Toddlers, and School-Age Children with Hearing Loss.” Dr. Roush is an ASHA Fellow, a Fellow of the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute, and a 2007 recipient of the Presidential Award from the American Academy of Audiology.
