I am a clinical associate professor in the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I also coordinate clinical practicum experiences for students in the MS program in Speech-Language Pathology. I began my career with five years as a speech-language pathologist in the home care setting, working with homebound children and adults with a wide variety of communication disorders. I have a strong interest in bilingual speech and language development and disorders and I teach ongoing accent modification workshops for UNC faculty and postdoctoral fellows. My son is enrolled in the dual language program in the local school system and I am a second language learner myself. I coordinate the annual bilingual conference sponsored by the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences each fall, and I travel with graduate students on a community-based learning trip to Guatemala each year.
