David Leblang is Professor of Politics at the University of Virginia and is a Faculty Associate at the Miller Center where he is the J. Wilson Newman Professor of Governance. He is also a Professor of Public Policy at the University's Batten School for Leadership and Public Policy. Since 2010 he has served as Department Chair of the Department of Politics. A scholar the area of international political economy he has expertise in international immigration, capital flows, financial crises and exchange rate arrangements. Recent articles have appeared in International Organization,The American Political Science Review, World Politics and The American Journal of Political Science. In 2006 he co-authored Democratic Processes and Financial Markets (Cambridge University Press) with William Bernhard. He currently serves on the steering committee of the International Political Economy Society and is the editor of SSRN's International Political Economy's Migration eJournal. Prior to arriving at the University of Virginia in 2008, Leblang held teaching positions at the University of Colorado, the University of North Texas and the College of William and Mary. He has been a visiting scholar in the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund and in the European Commission's Directorate of Economics and Finance. During 2014 he will be a visitor at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris, the Centro Studi Luca d'Agliano in Milan, and the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya.
