Bala Mulloth is a Senior Lecturer in Public Policy at the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. Part of Batten's Social Entrepreneurship@UVA Initiative, he teaches courses in social entrepreneurship and innovation and leads the Social Entrepreneurship in India global field experience course. Prior to moving to Charlottesville and joining the Batten School, Professor Mulloth was an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management at Central European University (CEU) in Budpaest, Hungary and the Program Director of CEU’s experiential New York City MBA program. Prior to joining the Central European University faculty, he was the Senior Manager of New York University School of Engineering’s Office of Innovation Development, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship. Professor Mulloth’s primary research areas of interest include innovation and strategic processes within new ventures, sustainable business models, and social entrepreneurship. He has published articles in several entrepreneurship and management journals, including the Journal of Business Ethics Education, Impact Business Review, the International Journal of Innovation and Regional Development and the Journal of High Technology Management Research and has contributed chapters in books such as the Entrepreneurial University: Case Studies and Policy (Routledge eds) and Free Market in Its Twenties: Modern Business Decision Making in Central and Eastern Europe. He has conducted workshops and lecture series on social entrepreneurship in the transition economies of Central and Eastern Europe such as Hungary, Czech Republic, Romania, Poland and Croatia.
