Georgia Green is Professor of Music Education and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the School of Music at Baylor. She holds a BM degree from Northwestern State University and MME and PhD degrees from Louisiana State University. Prior to Baylor she held the position of Music Supervisor at the LSU Laboratory School. As a children’s music specialist Green has conducted clinics and workshops in Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Florida, and Virginia. Her research interests include children’s pitch-matching abilities and partnership models for teacher education. Her work is published in the Journal of Research in Music Education and the Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education. She has served on the editorial board of Update:Applications of Research in Music Education and has served on the Executive Board of the Texas Music Educators Association as College Division Vice-President. She has been active in state and legislative issues affecting teacher education and certification as well as serving on committees for the development of the state teacher certification examination and state music textbook adoptions.
