Three mathematically oriented courses from one or several of the mathematical sciences (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Management Sciences or other fields), chosen from a list of approved courses available in the mathematics department. In most cases, this requirement would be fulfilled by courses required for the degree programs mentioned, with suitable electives. Two mathematically oriented courses from one of the several mathematical sciences, as described in (A), plus 1 additional Math elective (at least 3 units) numbered MATH 049 or higher (excluding MATH 161, 162, and 166).
