The School of Interior Design at the University of Tennessee offers a four year CIDA credited curriculum that leads to a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. In 2014-15 academic year Design Intelligence, a report published by the Design Futures Council, recognized Professor of Interior Design Ryann Aoukar was named one of 30 Most Admired Educators of 2015, and a junior interior design student won the prestigious nationally competitive Gensler Brinkmann scholarship. In the summer of 2014 the Art and Architecture building received over 1.2 million in furnishings upgrades that resulted in every student in every year of study having their own new personal workstations with 27” high-resolution computer monitors. An additional $600,000 has been invested in advanced digital fabrication tools and 3-d printers. In the fall of 2014 The College of Architecture and Design opened a new 20,000 sq. ft. FabLab where students explore the latest in digital fabrication and furniture construction. Interior Design + Architecture. The Interior Design Program at the University of Tennessee offers a unique track of study where students can complete a degree in Interior Design and qualify to apply for a 2.5 year Master of Architecture degree. In six calendar years of studies students can earn two professional design degrees.
