With an accounting degree, you’ll gain tangible skills that can be applied in all areas of business. The accounting field is expected to grow by 22 percent by 2018 – even in the face of the economic downturn. As a first year staff accountant, new graduates interact with CEOs, CFOs, and Controllers and create networking opportunities that are the springboard to a successful career. Prior to graduation, accounting majors are highly recruited by top companies for internship positions. At the conclusion of the internship, most students are offered full-time employment and enroll in the Harbert Master of Accountancy (MAcc) Program. Auburn students who go on to take the Certified Public Accountants exam have one of the highest pass rates in the country – 10 times the national average.
