Norm Brown’s background in earth and environmental sciences includes a wide range of research, management, and advisory roles in the natural sciences. Recent work and research includes topics in water-resource science, watershed management, environmental remediation, and technology commercialization. Norm participates on international advisory panels for water-resource management, environmental remediation, and bedrock groundwater science. His current work is focused on research and management for groundwater basins in the western U.S., including work for groundwater recharge projects, management of coastal aquifers and seawater intrusion, and analysis of water quality and flow regimes in combined surface water–groundwater systems. Norm received a BA as a William Carleton Scholar from Carleton College, with a minor in Science, Technology and Public Policy. He completed his MA and his PhD in Earth Science at UCSB
