Emily Cotter is an entrepreneur with a start-up in the natural-pet-products industry called “dogpeople.” She served as executive director of Project ECHO, training MBA-student mentors from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA to assist high school students in developing business plans. She was a senior product planner at Toyota Motor Sales and has also spent time in the private-equity field, working as an analyst at a New York—based leverage buyout fund. She began her career at Arthur Andersen, where she audited large clients, including Occidental Petroleum, Trust Company of the West, and the J. Paul Getty Trust. In 2006, she received three awards from the USC Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies: Best Feasibility Analysis Award, Top Business Plan Award, and the Marcia Israel Outstanding Student Award.
