Sharon (B.A.Dramatic Arts University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, M.F.A.Directing University of North Carolina, Greensboro) teaches, directing, acting, playwriting, introduction to theatre and first year seminars. She directs annually for the University Theatre as well as directs and acts outside the University. She taught previously at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and was a founding member of THEATREWORKS in Colorado Springs. In North Carolina she has directed for Wake Forest Theatre, UNCG Theatre, Twin City Stage, Paper Lantern Theatre, Theatre Alliance and the North Carolina School of the Arts. She appeared as Amanda in GLASS MENAGERIE for Twin City Stage and Kimberly in KIMBERLY AKIMBO for Paper Lantern. She directed with her colleague Jon Christman as designer, a world premiere production of BROTHER BRIAN SISTER KATHLEEN at the Gascon Center Theatre in Los Angeles, California. She has a particular interest in new play development and directs frequently for the ATHE New Play Development Program and facilitates a playwriting competition for WFU student playwrights. Sharon is interested in collaborative and interdisciplinary projects. She directed ALL MY SONS in partnership with WFU Theatre and Twin City Stage. She has engaged theatre students in collaborations with the WFU Small Business Office and the WFU Counseling Program, and is currently collaborating on a project facilitated by the new IPlace Center between the Department of Theatre and Dance and the Law School.
