The Department of Animal Science offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science with three possible concentrations, and an accelerated option: Animal Industries is designed for students interested in careers in agribusiness, production agriculture, and other animal-oriented professions. A minor in Food and Agricultural Business, Business Administration, Communications Studies, Information Studies and Technology, Journalism and Electronic Media, or other discipline with approval of the Animal Science Undergraduate Committee is required. [sample curriculum] Bioscience is highly flexible and allows students to prepare themselves for graduate school or careers in medicine (veterinary and human), allied health (pharmacy, physical therapy, and others), research, quality control and laboratory technology. Students are highly encouraged to identify a science-based minor that will complement their animal science program and provide a unique skill set that matches their interests and future career goals. [sample curriculum] Pre-Veterinary Medicine is designed to meet admission requirements to the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM). [sample curriculum] Pre-Vet 3+1 is tailored to meet the requirements for the B.S. degree and for application to CVM in three years.
