The study of Accounting (designated as a pre-major) at Baylor includes not only a strong technical foundation in financial accounting, but also training in written and oral communication development, teammwork, and critical thinking. The Accounting major prepares students for careers in accounting, auditing, budgeting, computer systems, financial management and taxation. Courses available include: •Auditing •Personal and Business Tax Planning •Not-for-profit and Governmental Accounting •Fraud Examination •International Taxation The Accounting program requires students to complete an internship during their senior year. The internships provided are with companies who have agreed to give the students an ample workload to utilize the skills they have learned in the classroom. Graduates with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting can plan on finding careers in private or public accounting firms, banking, management or computer information systems. Baylor also offers a unique Master Degree Five Year Program for Accounting majors. Students are able to waive 12 hours of undergraduate work and complete the masters program in a shorter period of time. This program allows students to choose between an MBA in Tax or Audit. The Hankamer School of Business offers several summer and semester study abroad programs all over the world as well as student exchange programs.
