Welcome to the Computer Science Department at Boston College. We're committed to advancing the state of the art in Computer Science, and to providing a challenging and exciting education for our students. Faculty members maintain active programs of research and publication in computer vision, programming languages, machine learning, data mining, databases, modeling and simulation, and the theory of computation. We offer academic programs leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science, as well as minor programs in Computer Science, Scientific Computation and Bioinformatics, a concentration in the Carroll School of Management, and an assortment of introductory-level and Core courses for non-specialists. Our advanced students have the opportunity to carry out independent study and to collaborate with faculty on research projects.
