Jackie Lanier is an Assistant Professor in the Health Education Program in the Department of Health Sciences. Prior to coming to Illinois State University in August 2013, Jackie worked as a Health Promotion Specialist for the McLean County Health Department for 13 years. At the Health Department she was involved in a variety of initiatives including leading a local community transformation grant, county-wide community health planning and assessment, and worked on tobacco prevention and control initiatives. Her interests include tobacco prevention and control, community health partnerships, health policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) change, leadership in health promotion, and individual and organizational capacity in health promotion. Jackie is a master certified health education specialist (MCHES). She is an active member of both the Illinois Society of Public Health Educators (ISOPHE) and Society of Public Health Educators (SOPHE). Jackie also serves on the leadership team for the McLean County Wellness Coalition.
