I am an experimental high energy physicist. I am a member of the CMS collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. For non-experts, a good starting point to learn about the LHC and its physics program is the LHC Wikipedia page.
At UCSB I have taught physics at all levels: from lower division physics for life science majors to particle physics for 2nd year graduate students. This quarter (Winter 2015) I am teaching Physics 6b.
