Koray Duman, AlA, LEED is Principal at Buro Koray Duman Architects, based in New York City. Originally from Turkey, Duman earned a BArch from Middle Eastern Technical University. He furthered his studies at UCLA’s Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Design with a Masters degree in Architecture. In 2009, Duman established Sayigh Duman Architects. In June 2013, the firm transitioned into the current entity, Buro Koray Duman. Duman’s work has been exhibited internationally and featured in publications including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Interior Design Magazine, Architectural Record and Dwell. He won the ‘Best of the Year’ Award in 2012 from Interior Design Magazine and the Rising Star Award in 2011 from the Fashion Group International. Duman also recently won the HIP Award at NeoCon 2014 in Chicago, North America’s largest design exposition and conference for commercial interiors. The studio completed a studio building and sculpture garden for artist Richard Prince and the new flagship stores for Design Within Reach. Current works include a master plan for an artist foundation in Upstate New York and a new Islamic Cultural Center in New York City.
