An art educator and a visual artist, Rébecca Bourgault, Ed.D received her doctoral degree in 2011 from the Art and Art Education program at Teachers College, Columbia University. Faculty appointments in art education have included Montserrat College of Art, Beverly, MA, Teachers College, New York and Brooklyn College/CUNY. She has also taught studio arts at the Alberta College of Art and Design, Mount Royal College, and the University of Calgary in Western Canada before coming to New York in 2007. Her work has been exhibited in numerous venues across Canada. Current research interests include intergenerational and older adult community art education and social practices, oral history and documentary. Working with elder artists she explores the many aspects of aging, its influence on their creative practices and their artistic identities.
She has also taught studio arts at the Alberta College of Art and Design, Mount Royal College, and the University of Calgary in Western Canada before coming to New York in 2007.
